DC Power Moves: Leadership Hires and Acquisitions Abound in the Region
The DC area has seen a flurry of leadership hires and acquisitions in the past month, with companies specializing in counter-drone technology, national security, and data collection making significant moves.
Counter-drone technology is becoming increasingly important in the region.
D-Fend Solutions, an Israeli company with a presence in Virginia, has appointed two new executives to its team. Gordon Kesting, formerly of Northrop Grumman and BAE Systems, has been hired as Vice President of US Sales and Business Development, while Glenn McArthur, a 25-year veteran of the US Border Patrol, has been tapped as Business Development Manager. The company’s technology is used by the US military and federal law enforcement to respond to drone threats.
“The extensive leadership and proven on-the-ground experience of our new hires will be invaluable as we continue to grow and expand our presence in the US market and focus on providing our partners with the most trustworthy technology for their counter-drone challenges,” said US General Manager Danny Rajan.
Data collection and dissemination are critical components of national security.
Core4ce, a national security-focused firm, has launched an incubator program called The Forge, aimed at boosting projects that enhance data collection and dissemination in the government. The company has appointed a new CTO, Todd Harbour, to oversee the program, as well as a Vice President of Sales and Emerging Technology and a Head of Data Engineering and Analytics.
“Within The Forge, we’re working to transform the professional services sector through strategic intellectual property investment,” said Harbour. “The Forge exemplifies the vigor of a blacksmith’s workshop, where we heat, hammer, and harden innovative ideas into market-leading solutions.”
Other notable moves in the region include the appointment of a new Chief Revenue Officer at Exostar, a software company based in Herndon, and the merger of Clango, a cybersecurity company based in Arlington, with MajorKey Technologies. Additionally, Hubble Technology Inc. in Reston was acquired by NetSPI, and SkyPoint Federal Credit Union in Germantown, Maryland, appointed a new Business and Community Development Director.
Cybersecurity companies are in high demand in the region.
TEGNA, a media company headquartered in Tysons, has announced the appointment of a new CEO, Michael Steib, who will replace David Lougee in mid-August.
These moves demonstrate the region’s continued growth and importance in the tech industry, with companies specializing in national security, data collection, and cybersecurity leading the charge.
The DC area is a hub for tech innovation and growth.
