Unlocking the Power of Data: SUNY New Paltz Launches MS in Business Analytics
In today’s fast-paced business landscape, data-driven decision making is no longer a luxury, but a necessity. To meet the growing demand for professionals who can harness the power of data, SUNY New Paltz is launching a new Master of Science in Business Analytics degree program in fall 2024.
Unlocking the power of data
This 30-36 credit program can be completed in less than one year on a full-time schedule, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of modern technologies that inform key business decisions. The curriculum, developed by experienced School of Business faculty, focuses on applied statistics, artificial intelligence, computer science, data management, and other STEM-informed tools and aptitudes.
“The MS in Business Analytics empowers professionals to translate raw data into actionable insights and grow into influential leaders within their organizations.”
The program’s innovative approach extends to its course delivery, with classes offered in a “Hy-Flex” model of mixed in-person and online modalities. This flexibility allows students to move between formats at their convenience, while faculty have received special training to provide effective education across these mixed formats.
Courses cover a range of content areas, including big data and data warehousing, advanced statistics, data visualization, and machine learning. Foundation courses in statistics analysis, decision theory, and Python programming will be provided to applicants without those prerequisites.

By providing students with the skills to extract insights from data, the MS in Business Analytics program aims to deliver the skills that corporate leaders increasingly expect in applicants and employees.
