New Syllabus for West Bengal Board Class 11 Artificial Intelligence Released for 2024-25
The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education has finally released the latest syllabus for Class 11 Artificial Intelligence for the academic year 2024-25. This syllabus provides the course structure and weightage of marks, covering sub-units, important questions, and objectives. The syllabus is divided into two semesters, each with its own set of topics and weightage.
Semester 1
In the first semester, students will cover the basics of computer science, including the history of computers, basic computer hardware, input and output devices, computer architecture, networking, types of computers, and software. They will also learn about number systems, Boolean logic, and algorithms.
Students will be introduced to programming in Python, learning about variables, data types, operators, control structures, functions, and collections. They will also study linear and non-linear data structures, arrays, stacks, queues, and binary trees.
The semester will also cover search algorithms, sorting, and matrix operations, as well as an introduction to vectors, probability distribution, and Gaussian distribution.

Semester 2
In the second semester, students will dive deeper into the world of Artificial Intelligence. They will learn about the history of AI, search as optimization, evolutionary algorithms, and knowledge representation.
The semester will also cover handling uncertain knowledge, rational decision-making, and Bayes’ rule. Students will be introduced to chatbots and their working principles.
